We handle personal data in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data we collect and why
Customers. When you buy a rug from us, directly or through a sales platform, we receive the data needed to complete the sale, such as your name, delivery address, email address and order details. We use it to process your order, send the rug and keep the records the law requires. Legal basis: performing the contract and legal obligations.
Contact form and messages. If you write to us through the contact form, by email or by phone, we use what you send us to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your request, or steps taken at your request before a purchase.
Seasonal update by email. If you subscribe, we collect your email address, your first name (optional) and your country. We use them to send you our seasonal update, about once a year, and to send it in your language. Legal basis: your consent. You confirm your subscription by clicking a link we send you (double opt-in), and you can withdraw your consent at any time.
Existing customers. We may also send the seasonal update to customers who bought from us and whose email address we received in connection with that purchase. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and we do not contact again anyone who unsubscribes.
Website visits. Like most websites, this one records technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google may process this data on our behalf; you can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with a browser add-on. Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which receives your IP address and technical data about your visit to tell humans from automated programs. More details are in our Cookie Policy.
Who receives your data
We use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) to send our emails. Brevo processes your email address, name and country on our behalf and only under our instructions. We do not sell your data. We may share it with the carriers who deliver your order, with the sales platforms through which you bought, and with the service providers who host this website.
How long we keep your data
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a blocklist, so that we do not write to you again. Order and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires, usually ten years in Switzerland.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or send it to you. You can unsubscribe from our emails with the link at the bottom of each message, or by writing to info@happyteppiche.com. If you think we are not handling your data properly, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or to the data protection authority of your country.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
